There mere thought of hiring a
celebrity to promote your fashion retail store could incite financial worries. In
fact, just thinking about it could cost you money. It is just terrifyingly
expensive.
But keep in mind that there are
different levels to being a celebrity.
Maybe you’re only a local fashion
retail store that just spent most of its fund to purchase wholesale

Perhaps you live in a mountain
biking county. It would be a good idea to hire the local dirt jumper who is so
good he’s probably months away from making it in the national level. See, you
have him associated with your store even before he becomes huge!
If you happen to personally know
some local celebrities, there is absolutely no thinking twice about hiring them
if they fit the bill. Just make sure he or she has a certain relevance.
You don’t even have to ink a
one-year deal. You may invite them to the opening of your store as celebrity
speakers, or perhaps pay them for a personal appearance in any of your events.
That wouldn’t cost as much if you directly hire them as endorsers. Lucky you if
the local celebrity doesn’t have a manager as you can get him or her at a
modest rate. Most of the time the manager makes a simple thing extremely
complicated.
When you spot celebrities
shopping at your store, politely ask if you can take a picture with them, maybe
ask for an autograph which you can post on a wall inside your store. This is a
good way of getting them to “endorse” your store without costing you anything,
no contracts involved. If you want them to come back, you may want to give them
a pair of sunglasses – could be your featured item for the month – just to show
your appreciation.
What the celebrities offer are
credibility and brand awareness. They are capable of building an emotional
attachment with the consumers, so you know what to do when the opportunity
presents itself.
