If you are a starting entrepreneur and are exploring ways on
how you can expand your business and gain more profits, you might want to
consider joining some charity works and causes. This can be done by tying up
with non-government institution or charitable organization that helps address a
specific social problem or promote an advocacy.
Check your purpose
Before joining in some cause, it is important to know your
purpose on why you are engaging yourself with that activity. Is it primarily to
gain more profits? Or do you actually see the need to help other people? As a
business strategy, it is okay to join causes because of your desire to increase
sales, besides, most charitable institution understand your purpose and may
even willingly help you promote your business.
However, for you to be able to offer your time and resources
without remorse and with enthusiasm, you must be able to find an organization
that you actually believe in and has values that are in line with your
company’s. This will make your effort worthwhile and will yield to more
fulfilling experiences.
What Kind of Charity
should you support?
As a sunglasses business, it is only reasonable to join
causes that have to do with eyesight or eye health. If you are also selling
eco-friendly sunglasses, it would be nice to support institutions that help in
promoting environmental conservation and other things related to mother other
earth. This way, you will not only strengthen your company values but you are
also given the chance to meet people with interests that are similar to yours.
Since you may not have a lot of money to sponsor big
charities, you can start sponsoring small groups in your area. This will not
require you to dedicate most of your time or resource to show your support but
will still establish an image that your company is extending efforts to help
the disadvantage people in a meaningful way.
On the next article, we will discuss to you the ways to
publicize and promote your company through joining charities and events. We
will also give you some pointers on where you can start supporting an advocacy
program and the benefits you get from them.
Stand by for more updates next week!
