The Pros and Cons of Rimless (and Half-Rim) Sunglasses

Wearing sunglasses is not just a fashion statement that one can make but also a move towards better eye health.  People used to wear sunglasses so they can be considered fashionable because of the different styles and designs, today that is not just the reason.  Another thing about wearing sunglasses is that it can hide the face of the wearer especially with those big bug-eye sunglasses. This is the perfect accessory if you would want to remain inconspicuous amongst the crowd.  Wholesale sunglasses have made this accessory affordable to most people because it gave them a lot of options.
Aside from being a fashion accessory, sunglasses are now used for protection.  Most of the pairs available today, even those from the wholesale sunglasses section, do offer a layer of protection from the ultraviolet rays of the sun. UV protection is now a standard that most sunglass manufacturers should consider.   Also, people are now more aware of the benefit it brings if the sunglasses they wear have UV protection in the lenses. You would just have to decide if you would want a pair that has a full frame or a rimless one.

Pros

Clear and polished look – The absence of the rims enable the person to clearly see without any obstructions.  Also, when the pair is devoid of lens, the whole piece looks better.

Easy to carry along – Most rimless glasses are lightweight which makes it easy to carry around.

Easy to change the lenses – This is one option that most people who prefer rimless glasses find very beneficial because they have the freedom to change the shape of the lenses as long as the stem is there.

Cons

Not possible for prescription glasses – It will be obvious because of the difference in the thickness of the lens for those whose grades are not the same on both eyes.

Have to take extra care – It is the screws that hold together the lens and the stem and more often than not, the screws tend to get loose over time.

An option for half-rim glasses would be the XLoop 8X2243.
