Truth is, novelty items can be used to adorn your retail store, effectively attracting attention. Especially for a fashion retail store, there are a handful of novelty items that can be displayed to get customers to stop by and walk into your store. Just be sure to pick the right ones and place them strategically, and they are sure to benefit any type of boutique, from wholesale sunglasses stores to footwear shops.

A novelty item can be any unusual item that’s oftentimes humorous. There is one fashion retail store, for example, that garnered a bit of popularity because of the novelty items they have on display. They used to have a bobber (a type of custom motorcycle), along with an old fuel dispenser at the center of their store. People get it: the ruggedness goes well with their featured item for that month – a classic, faded pair of denim jeans.

Because the novelty items (bobber and fuel dispenser) were meant to highlight the store’s featured item, they were placed right where the latter is located, which is right at the center of the store. In other stores, novelty items are placed at the front to welcome customers or at the window display so potential customers can get a first look of what’s inside.

If people begin to think it’s a novelty store instead of a sunglasses store, you are most definitely putting excessive emphasis on novelty displays.
